Roger T. Pipe Do you remember who directed that first movie?
Jon Dough I did a loop for Lance Kinkaid.
Roger T. Pipe Do you remember who was in it?
Jon Dough I don’t remember the girl’s name no. After that, I did Loose Ends for Bruce Seven.
Roger T. Pipe Did you work a lot for Bruce after that?
Jon Dough Yeah, I did a lot of work for Bruce.
Roger T. Pipe How was he to work for?
Jon Dough He was great. He always knew what he wanted and knew how to get it.
Roger T. Pipe Are there any other directors who stand out in your mind?
Jon Dough John Leslie, Alex DeRenzy there are so many others, I’m going to leave someone out.
Roger T. Pipe What about Michael Ninn?
Jon Dough He was excellent.
Roger T. Pipe You did big movies like ‘Shock’ and ‘Latex’ for Ninn. How were those to work on?
Jon Dough Those were a lot of fun. We had a good time and we knew we were making something special.
Roger T. Pipe You’ve won a lot of awards for your acting performances. Is that something you are really proud of, or do you prefer the purely sexual side of the work?
Jon Dough I used to really get into the acting stuff. I don’t know why, but I did. I felt I was good at it, but I’m more into the sexual side of things now.
Roger T. Pipe Is it easier?
Jon Dough No, that’s not it. It’s what we’re here for, the sex. Dialog just gets silly. ‘Latex’ and that stuff was fine for the time, but I couldn’t do it now, it’s just too silly.
Roger T. Pipe Vivid signed you as one of the first contract men in porn. When was that?
Jon Dough 1996.
Roger T. Pipe How did that deal come about?
Jon Dough We were at the XRCO awards and Steve Hirsch ran into me. He asked me if I wanted to do it. I was just working for people, just doing what I’m doing now and this was something different, so I said OK.
Roger T. Pipe Did you like working for Vivid?
Jon Dough Yeah, it was great. The girls were great.
Roger T. Pipe Do you have any favorite women that you have worked with?
Jon Dough All of them.
Roger T. Pipe Really?
Jon Dough Yeah, they are all good.
Roger T. Pipe Is there any one movie that stands out in your mind as your best work?
Jon Dough I’ve done so many. There is no way I can pick one.
Roger T. Pipe Do you how approximately how many movies you’ve done?
Jon Dough I couldn’t even tell you, maybe two thousand.
Roger T. Pipe You’ve been with Monique DeMoan for several years now. You guys met in the business, right?
Jon Dough Yes we did. We met on the set of an Ed Powers movie, "Dr. Butts 3."
Roger T. Pipe Did you guys have a scene together?
Jon Dough Yeah, a three way with Tom Byron.
Roger T. Pipe Then you’re done and you just ask her out for coffee?
Jon Dough No, Tom did that. I was married at the time so I went home with my wife. Tom took her, how did you put it, out for coffee? I have a feeling they had something a little stronger than coffee.
Roger T. Pipe How did this relationship come about?
Jon Dough A few years later, when I was working for Vivid, I ran into her again. This time, I took her out.
Roger T. Pipe You guys have worked together several times. Is it easier to work with someone you’re having a relationship with or harder?
Jon Dough It’s definitely not any harder. It’s easy man, working with her is wonderful. I would have to say it’s easier. The only hard part about this job is working with someone you don’t want to be with and I always want to be with her, so it’s easy.
Roger T. Pipe Are you able to just turn down scenes with people you don’t want to work with?
Jon Dough Of course, everybody does that. No one should do anything that they don’t want to do.
Roger T. Pipe What have been the biggest challenges for you trying to keep a relationship going while working in the business?
Jon Dough I don’t really know man. We have so many other challenges that the business doesn’t really seem to come into play. We’ve had some serious challenges come up in our lives and our relationship that are so much bigger than this business. This is really fun for us and we’re having a ball.
Roger T. Pipe You’re still working with other women and she works with other men. That isn’t an issue for you obviously.
Jon Dough No. That’s just not an issue with either of us.
Roger T. Pipe So you’re doing scenes again. What else are you working on?
Jon Dough I’ve just started working on a series for Anabolic. We’re shooting the first few scenes coming up. We’re still working on the title.
Roger T. Pipe When it comes out, we’ll have to do another interview to talk about it.
Jon Dough Yeah, right now, I want to hold off, but when it comes out, we need to talk more. I’ve talked about things too soon before and people take your idea and fuck it up.
Roger T. Pipe How are the guys at Anabolic to work for?
Jon Dough They’re great. I love working for them. It’s a great bunch of guys. They are letting me take my time to do things right. I want every girl to be right for the line and I’m taking my time.
Roger T. Pipe What else have you guys got on your plate?
Jon Dough Monique has her whole R-Rated career going. Out of the blue, she saw the right agent and she’s getting a ton of work. The next thing she’s working on is the Emmanuelle series. We’re just so damn busy, it’s great.
Roger T. Pipe Is the R-Rated stuff something you would be interested in as well?
Jon Dough Not really. That Cinemax stuff is good for the girls and younger guys, but I’m not really into it. She is really happy and I’m happy getting behind the camera for Anabolic, doing a straight on hard-core line.
Roger T. Pipe This isn’t the first time you’ve directed though?
Jon Dough No, I have done a couple of lines, Dirty Stories and Sin-A-Matic. I also did a thing for VCA called "Attitude." That was the first thing I directed. I also directed movies for Vivid, one was called "In Cold Sweat." For Hustler I started the hundred and one girl thing.
Roger T. Pipe That’s right, you were the World’s Luckiest Man.
Jon Dough Yeah, I made that whole thing up. I went to Steve, he loved it and actually named it. I wanted to call it something like "A Hundred and One Girls", but they re-worked that. Since Vivid is the Disney of porn, he cleaned up the title and it took off from there.
Roger T. Pipe Was that a hard movie to make?
Jon Dough A little bit. I wouldn’t do it again. It was fun at the time, we got a lot of press and it did wonders for my that year. It was a once in a lifetime shot and I hear that from other guys as well. Mr. Marcus, Bobby Vitale and Erik Everhard have all done them and they all tell me the same thing. Never again.
Roger T. Pipe It looked like a lot of work.
Jon Dough It is a great thing to look back on and say ‘hey, I did it’ but never again.
Roger T. Pipe How many days did it take to shoot?
Jon Dough We shot that one in three days. That’s about what they’re doing now, maybe four days. We tried to do it one day, but it was just impossible. Maybe a guy like TT Boy could do that in one day, but it’s really a lot of work, even for three days.
Roger T. Pipe Were there any of the other movies you directed that you were really proud of?
Jon Dough I liked the Sin-A-Matic movies for Vivid. I wouldn’t mind doing something like that again. I did a thing for Hustler called "Hustler Letters" and it was all the stories from Hustler magazine. We took the letters and brought them to life. That was kind of neat with the bizarre set ups. We rented this horse and carriage and did a whole scene in the park. TT Boy is screwing some girl in the ass while the carriage is driving through the park. I like that kind of stuff.
Roger T. Pipe Anything that I missed or didn’t cover?
Jon Dough No, that’s about it. Like I said, our plates are full here and we’re having a blast. I want it to stay that way for a long time.
