Let's be honest, I was never overly kind to James Avalon's work at his old company. He made really good movies that I felt had little sexual heat. (Which makes them on par with other features these days.) Since moving to Red Light District, Avalon's movies have shifted gears. He still makes very solid flicks, but the sex is completely different. I've always been a sucker for a good feature, but interested in harder sex. That makes these new Avalon/Red Light movies pretty damn hot in my book. This title takes it cue somewhat from the mainstream film “Memento” which was, in a word incredible. Telling a story backwards takes a lot of clever writing, great editing and solid actors. Avalon has Sunny Lane in the lead and she has earned a lot of praised for this role already. She is joined in the cast by some outstanding performers and one of the industry's true legends, Veronica Hart. (In a non-sex role) If Avalon can make the complicated story arc work and if he takes advantage of Sunny, Hillary, Tyla and the other hot babes in this movie, then it may well be time to really jump on the James Avalon bandwagon.

Sunny wakes up naked with no clue where she is and Evan Stone ready to pick a fight with her. Things go from bad to worse when she ends up cutting his throat with a beer bottle. Poor Sunny has nothing to go on, but some Polaroid pictures and some cryptic notes. And so our story ends….even as it begins.

The night before, a bleeding Stone drags Sunny into the room with Kelly Wells and Isabella Stanza. This is a really, really good movie on every level. The script is tight, interesting and well paced. All of the performers do a fine job with their clothes on and with them off. Sunny shines on both levels, causing her stock and our cocks to rise in a big way. More on Sunny in a bit. Other cast members deserve praise for their acting and/or sex scenes. Evan Stone is particularly good in his role. It's hard to see Evan as completely menacing because we're so used to him being a bit of a goof. Even in this role there are some funny moments, but overall, he pulls it off incredibly well. Veronica Hart is also worth watching for his role. She helps hold things together and could probably give the young actresses in the business lessons. Sexually the movie is very, very strong. Hillary Scott and Stacy Thorn highlight a group scene that is probably the best of its kind this year. Those two women can light things up every time. Sunny is as good with her clothes off as she was with them on. Her scene with Lockwood is simply stunning. If all feature sex scenes could be this good, then porn would be entering its platinum era right about now. Just when I thought I was ready to pick my favorite feature of 2006, I had to go and fall in love with Sex Pix.
